And when she told the Beaumont Foundation how well the event had gone, they replied: “Delighted you got such a great turnout for your coffee morning today Evelyn. Sure you’re the salt of the earth up there in Donegal! So glad you’re our patient as you do know we only have the very best! Well done and thanks to all your family and friends for digging deep again.”Added Evelyn: “A lot of people heard about the event on social media and many of the people who came had amazing stories about their experiences in Beaumont.”Evelyn said she wanted to thank all the volunteers, friends and family and all the people who baked for the event, “because I don’t bake, myself”, she laughed. This is the second year Evelyn has organised a coffee morning for the Beaumont Foundation, following her major surgery in the hospital three years ago. “The most important thing for me is that I am giving something back to the hospital that helped me”, she said. She said that sometimes people walked out of a hospital and seemed to forget about what they had been through and about the nurses and surgeons and everyone “right down to the dinner ladies”.It was clear today, she said, that many people did not forget and were only too delighted to support an event like the coffee morning to say thank you.The Beaumont Hospital Foundation, established in 1995, is a registered charity which operates independently of Beaumont Hospital administration. Their mission is to generate and manage funding for innovative health and medical advances, aimed at improving quality of life for patients and their families.Said Evelyn: “I want to thank the management and staff of the Tara Hotel, and Sweet News for the balloons, everyone who baked, my family and friends and everyone who supported me. It was massive and we will see you all again this time next year for an even bigger event.”‘SURE YOU’RE THE SALT OF THE EARTH IN DONEGAL’ – BEAUMONT FOUNDATION was last modified: October 18th, 2015 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Beaumont FoundationdonegalKillybegslast_img read more
