GAA NEWS: ST EUNAN’S U14’S PRODUCE CLASSY PERFORMANCE IN WIN OVER MILFORD

first_imgSt Eunan’s GAA News:The Seniors opened their Championship defence in style with a 2-10 to 0-07 win away to Ardara in their opening Group game with Lee McMonagle (penalty) and Conor Gibbons getting the goals. The Reserves were defeated by 2-09 to 1-00, goalscorer Aiden Friel.  Both teams are back in league action this Saturday with a trip to Gaoth Dobhair, throw in 6.00 and 7.30pm. The Senior Hurlers return to action this next Monday, travelling to Annyalla to face St. Fechins in the Táin League, throw in 7.30pm.Hard luck to the U-16 boys’ Development team who went down to Naomh Columba in the league semi final, on a scoreline of 4-16 to 6-03.The U-14 Hurlers defeated McCumhaills 4-08 to 3-10 in their League semi final and will now face Buncrana in the final this week.The U-14 Boys Footballers had a comfortable 2-15 to 1-00 win over Milford on Monday and the will face St. Michaels away next Monday at 7pm.  The Dev. team lost to Termon and will host Letterkenny Gaels, also next Monday at 7pm. Well done to our five County representatives Sadhbha Medlar, Kaneshia McKinney, Sinead Hession, Lauren O’Connell and Rose Boyle, who all appeared in the first ever Donegal U21 team entered into an Ulster Championship. They comprehensively beat Tyrone 7-14 to 2-04.Congratulations also to our five Donegal U-14 girls’ players, Claire Doherty, Niamh Walsh, Katherine Kelly, Niamh Harkin and Lee Walsh and coach Greg Harkin who defeated Antrim in the Ulster B Final on Saturday winning by 4-09 to 1-11.Many thanks to Mr. Kevin Bradley at Highland Bakery, Letterkenny for his kind sponsorship of new gear for our Senior Football team.Well done to everyone involved in organising the annual club golf classic. As part of our “4 for Féile” fundraising campaign we are collecting all your old clothes which we hope to turn into cash to help fund our four teams that will compete in this year’s Féile events. The boys and girls U14 Footballers will travel to the south-east (Wexford – Carlow – Wicklow) in late June for the All-Ireland Féile whilst the U14 Hurlers and Camógs will act as hosts for this year’s Ulster Féile.You can drop your black bags of old clothes to O’Donnell Park this Sunday during the Century Cinemas Sunday Morning Academy.  You can also drop off  this Friday during the Hurling and Camogie Academy between 6.30pm and 8pm.
