first_imgMinimum Qualifications:Nurse Practitioner- Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’sDegree in Nursing.- National Certification by one of the recognized APRNCertification Centers.- Licensure or eligibility for licensure, as a professionalRegistered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in WestVirginia.- Department Specific : APRNs requesting to be privileged asFirst Assists are required to complete RNFA certification- BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Supporttraining at the discretion of the department.- Eligible new graduates will be considered.Physician Assistant:- Bachelor’s Degree as Physician Assistant or Master’s Degree asPhysician Assistant required.- Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant (PA) trainingprogram required.- Certification by the National Commission for Certification ofPhysician Assistants required.- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board ofMedicine.- BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Supporttraining at the discretion of the department.- Eligible new graduates will be considered.Position Summary: The Advance Practice Professional (APP) isan individual with clinical/surgical urology expertise. The APPcompletes comprehensive patient health evaluations (includingbiological, social and psychological assessments) in collaborationwith the appropriate clinical/faculty team. The APP assesses, andcoordinates the educational and psychosocial needs of the surgicalurology patient and caretakers. The APP develops and reviews theplan of care with the other members of the clinical team,participates in directing that care, and coordinates peri-operativecare discharge planning (as applicable) and appropriate posthospital and ambulatory follow up. The APP participates in theeducation of residents and medical/nursing students and performsdiagnostic procedures and therapeutic procedures. The APPparticipates in all aspects of the global management of thesurgical urology patient throughout the system.Provide healthcare services consistent with state law and therequirements of the professional licensing or certificationauthority and/or hospital privileges, where applicable.
